A Brief Summary...

The Praise House was founded in the late fall of 1999.  Our foundation Scripture is from Isaiah 43:

  • "Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past.  Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert."  Isaiah 43:18-19 NASB

We are a community of Christ-followers who promote passionate worship, true discipleship, and pure fellowship.  While we embrace all that God is doing in the Body of Christ, our collective emphasis as a group--the gift we bring to the table--is worship. We seek to model a lifestyle of worship, impart the heart of worship and teach the dynamics of worship in every circle in which we find ourselves.

We meet as a house church with plans to build a network of house churches where believers come together to break bread, fellowship, and study the Word of God.  The intimate setting of house church enables the sense of community, fellowship, discipleship and accountability that we need in order to be spiritually healthy.  It also equips and strengthens us to be salt and light to the world during the times when we are not meeting together.

Although we embrace the intimate setting of house church, we also embrace the corporate setting where larger numbers of believers gather together to worship.  We see that the earliest believers actually met in both a corporate and an intimate setting--in the temple, and in homes:

  • "Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people.  And the Lord was adding to their number day by day whose who were being saved."  Acts 46-47 NASB, emphasis ours

To fill that need for the corporate worship setting, both for ourselves and for others, The Praise House is involved in the development of a grassroots community of worshipers through  its sister ministry,  worship24-7.com.  This emerging out-of-the-box ministry seeks to gather worshipers and worshiping musicians from a variety of church expressions to nurture the heart of worship, and hosts regular open worship events, among other things.
